Problems setting up Nanostation Loco M2

I'm not seeing the images here on this forum, even though I have Picasa set to show them to anyone (Public). Not sure if Picasa is set to prevent sharing on sites such as this.

I edited the first post again to change from trying to show images on this page to just giving a link to each individual photo. I hope this works.

If not, I think I can dust off an unused Photobucket account and see about linking from there (assuming PB is even around these days).

The only difference I could see between yours and mine was on the Wireless tab, the Lock to AP MAC: had some hexadecimal numbers on mine and on the Network tab my DHCP Fallback IP: had 192.168.10.1 whereas yours had 192.168.2.1

I also used Dave's video and had no trouble whatsoever but you have to do everything exactly as he says! You may need to reset the nanostation and run through the video again.

Don't know if this will help.
On the WIRELESS tab click select. A list of sites will come up. From the list click on the circle to the left of the MAC address you want to select. Scroll to the bottom of the list and click Lock to AP (not Select).

Back to the WIRELESS tab. The MAC address that you selected should be in the Lock to AP box just under the SSID box. On the bottom of the WIRELESS tab page click Change button. Now at the top of the WIRELESS tab page there will be an Apply button, click it. Wait about 30 seconds for the Nanostation to re-boot.

Now go to the MAIN tab page to the right the AP MAC should be the one you locked to along with the signal strength.

Looks like you've got both your AP and Nanostation set to the same SSID. While you CAN do that, it complicates settings. Try a different name.

on the main tab, click dhcp client and lets see the settings.

on the network tab, show us lan settings as well.

keep the airgateway out of the picture for the time being, once you get internet from the loco we can move to the gateway, make sure you have a network cable around

I think LScamper has the solution for you. Let us know. I have the same setup and cannot connect to the campgrounds free open wifi for some unknown reason. I am good to go with other secure and unsecure APs. It's got me buffaloed.

I run an airgateway to a picostation on the roof. Picostation DHCP fallback 192.168.10.1 on mine also. How close is nanoloco to your home router? Could you be overloading the frontend with too much signal?

Yes, I’ve been trying to get the Nanostation to work before adding the Airgateway into the circuit. One piece at a time.

Accsys – I’ve followed about 3 different sets of instructions. The 192.168.2.1 that I’m currently set at came from the David Bott video. I also tried following a Ubiquiti document called, “Beginners SETUP GUIDE for NANOSTATION-M2 as receiver,” which resulted in a fallback IP of 192.168.10.20 for the Nano. Same result either way.

LScamper – I’ve tried to select an access point and have tried both “Select” and “Lock to AP.” With Lock to AP, the AP MAC appears as you suggest. Neither way has worked.

joebedford – The Nano is named “UBNT,” as in the David Bott video, with my own unique password. The router through which I am trying to connect to the internet was named “Jeffers” by the telephone company technician who installed it. It has a different password. The SSID on the Main page is the AP top which I am connected. I have a second router set up as a wireless repeater to serve a detached shop. I named it “Bridge.” When I lock to that AP, both Main and Wireless show that SSID.

Viewfinder – I was very close to the wireless router to which I was trying to connect. I move to another room. There’s now a brick wall between the router and the Nano, so the signal strength should be attenuated. Still no joy.
