problems with copilot

As suggested in this thread, I downloaded Copilot for my I-pad and purchased the Garmin Glo device. Tried it for the first time today and experienced a few problems. At first, it wouldn't keep linked between the iPad and the device, but after awhile, it seemed to stay connected. Then I noticed that the refresh time seems to lag quite a bit. For instance, I would travel a block or even 1/4 mile and the indicator for the device would not move on the map, then after about 15-30 seconds, it would jump to where it should be. That's not going to work, especially when I'm in a heavily congested area.

Any suggestions as to what I can check? The device had a clear shot of the sky thru the windshield and the iPad was only about 1-2 ft. away.
  • The way you describe its operation sounds like the iPad is not locked on the Garmin, but is getting position information on various WiFi routers up and down the street. Are you sure you are pointed at the Garmin?
  • I use the GPS in the iPad and had no issues. When my gps first had its mental breakdown I tried the free Copilot which continually crashed. The iPad had just updated the operating system and that could have been the issue. When I got the paid version I have had no issues.
  • this sounds like an ipad interface problem
or a problem with the Garmin Glo

have you checked Garmin or ipad forums for info
