The sad thing to my joke is that most people do not buy their TP at CW or even by RV specific TP. We do. We don't find it too overly priced and if it's recommended by the manufacturer, then we will more than likely do it. We are not stuck on a prticular brand, how many plies or how soft it is. If it works, we are good.

My experience for years has been that you can find better pricing on almost everything Camping World sells if you are willing to wait and order online. CW once had a niche market because they had items for camping and RVing all under one roof, conveniently located near popular camping venues or RV travel routes. One of the nice conveniences was you could pull off the road in your rig and find a place at CW to park while you shopped. I can't count the times we would travel to the nearest CW just to see what else we might need for the camper that we did not already have. Needless to say we ended up purchasing many items we did not know we needed until we walked around the store!

We have noticed the marketing strategy at CW has changed in the last few years. It seems Camping World has decided to focus on selling RV's and their venues are now like RV Dealerships with one exception; they provide little or no parking for rigs that want to pull off the road and shop in the store. They also seem to be ending their relationships with RV dealers. We first noticed this at Lazydays in Tampa where the CW located on the Lazydays property vacated the store and purchased an RV dealership a little further east on I-4. Next we noticed the same thing happen at home in Knoxville where CW ended their relationship with Tennessee RV at Exit 398 on I-40 to move to a lousy location near the airport. The location at Exit 398 brought in tourist from the Pigeon Forge-Gatlinburg area in droves. I fail to see the wisdom in moving their store to the RV dealership near the airport. We needed an item that CW sells and made the inconvenient trip over to the new location only to find extremely limited parking for RV's and not much in the way of parking for cars. Not to mention the fact you take your life in your own hands when you try to get back on Alcoa Highway. As I write this we are camped on Music Valley Drive in Nashville next door to Camping World. They have also turned this location into an RV dealership with the same limited parking and the old store is gone. They purchased the tour bus location next door and converted the building into the store.

Bottom line is if you are looking for RV accessories Camping World is now just like any other RV dealership. The focus is on RV sells and not RV products.

Any chance Winegard lowered their price? Perhaps when it first came out, it was priced higher. Also, nothing to say that CW can't mark it higher. Perhaps they were $549 at one time or another with CW.

1. You are correct. Nobody is forcing us to buy, but the question is on CW's pricing strategy and possibly an error in their pricing.

2. No, CW isn't the only firm to do this. There are many others. That's why it's smart to shop around, especially with the availability of the internet.

The sales circular says the unit's regular price is $549.00. It also says the sale price of $449.99 ends on November 4th. Do you want to place any bets that the price on November 5th is still 449.99?
