Questions on Classic Shell and Firefox

I've ordered a new computer and should have in a day or so. From the information I've gathered, Windows 8 can be a real "tester of patience". I've read of a program Classic Shell that will allow 8 to be run as 7. I'd appreciate your experiences. I also want to load Firefox on the new computer. What is the level of difficulty in doing that? All input appreciated!
  • If you load Classic Shell and turn off the "gestures" on your touchpad, the computer will pretty much act like Windows 7 and you'll never see the "tiles" (the so-called Metro screen). That's what I do and have no complaints.

I run both Firefox and Chrome and both are easy to load and use.
  • I have windows 8 computers. I do not use the metro screen at all really. I have downloaded classic shell and it works great. I have in the setting that when the computer starts it bypasses the metro screen and shows the desktop on boot up.

    I use FF too.

Clasic shell puts the start menu back on the computer and make the computer function just like we all know..

The metro screen I assume would be good for tablets and such, or if you had a touch creen. My sone has the touch screen laptop and he does not use metro/win 8 screen... He's 13 too...LOL
