I was going to get a pathway II because they are cheaper then the pathway I and you can get both eastern and western. The pathway II is big and harder to store and has outside moving parts. I don't know how long it would last in a bad environment so I went for the more expensive pathway I.

Neither.

Both the G2 and X1 only support DISH's Western Arc (110, 119, 129) sats.

Since you (OP) live on the East Coast, you'd be better served with the Pathway X2 -- it's just an X1 that can also pick up DISH's Eastern Arc (61.5, 72, 77) sats as well as the Western Arc ones.

They are very different beasts. The X1 is Dish only and usable with only the 211 series receiver. The Carryout is usable with Dish or DirecTV as well as multiple receivers or a DVR.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

We have a pathway I and it only uses one cord. My wife can set it on the ground or picnic table and the T.V. works. No phone, no compass, no tripod, nothing to screw or turn. It is worth something to me to not have to do anything and I don't want it built in because it's not always used in that TT.

I have a Tailgater and VIP 211k receiver from "DishForMyRV.com", and it is working very well for me. This system is Dish network-only.

While the dish is limited to one reciever, it does not require a separate power feed and it works perfectly on 100-ft of coax, and works most of the time on 150-ft (50-ft recommended max).

Iz there a question in there?

Well, lacking the question mark, this sure sounds like a question to me.

OP, that's a good question....why indeed.

Believe the Pathway is for Dish only where the Carryout can be changed to different services.

Why buy either when for about 175 dollars you can get a complete setup for HD
