Perhaps shaw direct could help me here. I just received a replacement receiver which is the HDPVR630 and I have the URC 550 remote. My last receiver was set up to use RF to control the receiver. Now the new receiver is not set up to receive that signal. How can I reset the remote to go back to the original factory setting. I have tried all the press and hold options in the manual and nothing works where the lights flash to get me into program mode.
Thanks

Hi Rob

I don't think there are plans to decommission any satellites.
Older LNBs will work but will not put out as many HD channels.Old circular dish do not work. They have to be oval shape.

In regards to service, we do home away from home packages if you are planning to setup a second residence or rv.

Do You have any idea when the Two Older Birds will be decommissioned?

I presume at that time the Older LNB's will be of little use.

I'm seeing lots of Used receivers for sale in the thrift shops! Can they be activated and added to Our accounts, without a lot of hassle by Shaw?

I'll bite...I have Shaw Direct at our cabin in the bush in Yukon.

When will I be able to pick/choose the channels for my subscription rather than have to pay for pre-packaged channel groupings, with channels included that aren't interesting to me?

$130 per month for TV reception is a bit silly when we watch only 15-20 of the channels on a regular basis, but those 15-20 are strategically scattered in different groupings so I have to pay for the whole package rather than the just the preferred channel.

Hi Sue. You are paying quite allot for your bundle. I will send you other bundling options that might help you save.

Single channel selection has been in the talks for a while now. It really depends what the CRTC decides to do at this point.

We have used Star Choice/Shaw Direct while travelling in AZ for some 12 winter seasons with no issues. One gets to be pretty good at DIY dish alignments and there is lots of on line 3rd party help that never used to be. Bottom line, do not call the provider (Shaw or Bell) for help while south of the 49th, they may cut off the service. Any thing else we should be aware of :h

Hi Harvard
We are not allowed to provide technical help if you call from a US number. I haven't heard of anyone having their services disabled with Shaw direct. Bell and Telus will disable their service as far as I was told.
