Spinning "wheels" on Firefox tabs?

Slow internet connection.

Scripts that are not allowed to run, or do not finish running, can cause this. Some plug-ins will interfere with scripts and you will get the ever-spinning wheel.

On of the sites may have JAVA SCRIPT hung up waiting for a response from you to either continue the script or stop the script. This could be hidden in one if the tabs or behind firefox

Nope... It basically means that you've run out of main memory, and you need to shut FF down and launch it again... FF has never really fixed their memory leak problems. If you look at the processes of FF, you'll see over time that the memory allocated to it grows over the course of the day. Really horrible about this. It's possible that the latest version of FF (at least on the Mac) appears to have addressed the memory leak situation. I haven't had a chance to observe the processes of FF at the end of the day, but it has behaved a LOT better than older versions, which would force me to "force quit" FF 2-3 times a day. Now, I don't get what I call "beach-balled" and froze up. It's a PITA, but go ahead and update to the latest and see if it solves your problem.

This problem just came up this a.m. and I remembered I'd installed Garmin Express (needed for a new GPS) yesterday. It has a "tray program" that is always installed. I took it out of the start-up list and re-booted. Bingo, back to normal operation, w/o any spinning wheels. Haven't re-enabled it yet, to see if that's really the problem, but I'm pretty sure it is.

The Worm Oroborous (As best I can spell it) (The worm that eats it's own tail) indicates that FF is still trying to load the site, but has not yet finished.. Some sites seem never to finish..

But... If the site is down. .That happens.. IF you open too many tabs at once you can also overload your connection.. and that happens.

I have found that clicking on the tab, then on the X which is on the address bar (NOTE you may have to add that one) to stop the tabe.. then clicking on the circular arrow on the address bar to re-load. Often loads the sites when I'm on a bandwidth limited connection.

Just now I'm on 4G which means they load faster than I can get my hand off the rodent.

Those spinning wheels are the pages loading in the tabs - normal for Firefox.

I also X it out when it seems to be hung and then click the "reload the current page arrow" and that usually fixes it.
