streaming radio - .pls file format

Question

I like to stream several different radio shows over the internet and have run into one that has a .pls extension.

Win 7 media player doesn't seem to like this extension and won't play it.

I'm sure there are several different players out there that will work but I'm wondering if there are favorites for the win 7 platform?

PLS is a playlist file used by AOL's WinAmp, which is discontinued but still available. Another program that handles PLS is VideoLan Client or VLC Player

Ditch Windows media player and download VLC and use that for all you audio and video.  Much better program and it's free.
