your WD personal cloud drive..
is a misnomer...its not on the web
nobody else can access it
instead of saying western digital wifi network NAS drive, they call it a personal cloud
you need to move them to the web
the cloud is another way of saying web server
its just transparent/invisible..operating in the background from a program/app on your phone or PC..BUT it is the web storage
a personal WD cloud is your own HARWARE/hard drive.
nobody else can access it ..unless it has access to the web
i know that some people are doing this.. its not something i recommend
this is the type of thing that cause lots of confusion
The drives marketed under the WD My Cloud name DO have cloud access using the WD My Cloud service. It is like linking a Dropbox account directly to your WD drive. Your drive attaches to the cloud service when it is plugged into the internet and than allows others (you give access to) to access files directly on your drive in the shared folder.
