Coming back to GPS, anybody know details why Delorme discontinued their street atlas?
From what I understand Delorme sold to Garmin and perhaps Garmin considered Street Atlas to be a competitor to BaseCamp. Personally I think they just consider that everyone now uses either a smart phone or a tablet for navigating, and they don't give a hang about the other people that aren't onboard with the "latest and greatest", even if the old products do the job as good or better.
Speaking of weird stuff and cars. We discovered that if the anti-theft siren on our son's Volvo is not working due to corrosion or a bad connection, the sunroof won't open, and if open won't close. There is no icon, or any alert telling you that the siren doesn't work, but the sunroof won't operate. Try figuring that one out.
