TracVision - Switching from Dish to Directv

Just purchased a new to us coach! TracVision in-motion on the roof!
Digging thru the "paperwork drawer" I found a Dish remote. I assume then the TracVision is programmed for Dish Network.

Bad Me, at work w/o a model number. It's Black in color, standard size NOT the low profile, e.g. for top of a car.

Looking thru some of the manuals on the Trackision site it appears the systems ship configured to DirecTV.

It appears I'll need a 9-pin cable to reprogram. Straight thru or Null Mode cable?

I'll check the exact model when returning home.

07 Discovery 39V, A real P.I.T.A. trying to figure how ALL the entertainment systems are wired up. Samsung TV's Samsung Surround sound systems BOTH front and back. Trying to determine how to get behind TV up front. WOW, I think it will take over a week trying to determine how all these systes opprate. This coach has every option known to man! LOL

Thanks All
  • Most of the KVH antennas require a computer with a serial connection and some special software to make the change between service providers. You can call KVH to get the information about your specific antenna. If you don't see the model number on an outside label somewhere you can remove the dome and find the information there. You may have to have a dealer with the KVH equipment do the change but this can cost around $200 to get done and you still won't know if the antenna works or will work with your receiver. I assume you know that none of the dome style antennas will allow the reception of the DirecTV HDTV programming.
  • I had a 2006 Discovery with Tracvision. It supports both Dish and Direct TV. I had the manual system (not in motion) and used Direct TV. I would suggest that you visit http://www.discoveryowners.com/. They have a wealth of information. They also have a group on Yahoo. Good luck and enjoy your D.
