Updating Drivers

I am trying to install a USB Dialup Modem on my shop computer so I can see who is calling.. The computer is using Win 10. When I plug the USB Modem (USB HSF Modem) in the computer says no driver installed for it.. no software/drive CD came with modem and a search of the Inet only reveals many sites that want to install a Driver Update Utility first... I am suspicious of any web site that wants to install such a program first before giving me a driver or whatever.. Are the Driver Update Utilities worth the effort or do they just create more problems with spam / and possibly a virus?

When I plug the USB Modem in, I hear the familiar "ding" indicating some USB Device has been inserted.. Under this/my PC, a new drive doesn't appear..when I look at device manager, the modem is listed under other devices as USB HSF Modem with the "bad News" yellow triangle in front of it. properties indicate No driver installed.. Search of INET and supplied disk provide nothing.. I guess I should ask the forum if anybody has found and installed a USB Dial-up Modem on a Windows 10 system? If so what brand and model? I sure the modem I got is JUNK as it wouldn't install on 2 other WIN 10 units as well as an older computer using Vista.. Thanks for all of the comments..

I don't think this is for internet or calls
I think it is for monitoring the land line and displaying caller ID info on the computer screen
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

Good advice. They should have downloads there. I wouldn't let any site download stuff that I have no idea what it is. MOHO

Go to the website for the manufacturer of your modem and see if there are drivers available.
