- MurphsmomExplorerTake it with you. There are several Best Buy locations in the Boise area. Check with one of their reps.
- MrWizardModeratorDid you check your firewall settings
- D_E_BishopExplorerI am at home and we have three computers, the desktop with Win7, the netbook with Win7 Starter and the laptop with Win8.1. Both Win7 machines work great and the netbook has worked all over the country for both dslextreme and outlook. dslextreme is our IP.
- MrWizardModeratorwhere are you ?
are you at home or in the RV
that is what i was trying to explain, MS and some other services are very picky
and won't let "outlook" software aka Email client, log in from an IP not associated with the acccount
you actually have to login in to web URL directly
not thru a third party re-direct and use the web page version web mail
if you are at home, have you ever used this PC on that web mail page before ?
yes.. then something on the PC has changed and the pc is blocking it
NO.. then hotmail/outlook is blocking the PC
will the wife PC login,, maybe there is a problem at MS with outlook ?
or with server certs between outlook and your ISP
i've seen a Friends hotmail mess up, only to work the next day
sometimes it an't worth the hassle just wait til tomorrow and try again - D_E_BishopExplorerI don't want to see the emails on dslextreme.com, I want to see the ones on Hotmail.com and I know about the change, I even found a place to add an account to Outlook, I just can't get the bloody thing to work. We're leaving in the am for Boise ID for a couple week and I'll hash it out when we get back. Thanks everyone and all suggestions are welcome.

I went to Outlook setting and found the sbishop account, no d.e.bishop account. Set it up just like the sbishop account and it says it is sending a confirmation email. It never comes.
It tells you during the confirmation process where it is sending the confirmation email. Where is that? Look there. - strollinExplorerHotmail.com was changed to outlook.com a couple of years ago but if you use hotmail.com it will be re-directed to outlook.com so it's no biggie.
It sounds as if you are getting into hotmail/outlook since you see the email from the outlook team. You won't see your emails from dslextreme because I'm guessing that it's a totally different email address. You may be able to add the dslextreme email address to outlook.com so you can see the dslextreme emails there. By default, outlook.com will only show emails that were sent to [yourid]@outlook.com or [yourid]@hotmail.com. - D_E_BishopExplorerI went to Outlook setting and found the sbishop account, no d.e.bishop account. IF you are trying to log in, from a different location, using an email client program,, like thunderbird etc.. that is your problem
you will have to log in thru your browser by going to the hotmail (now something else) webpage
George, I'm not to sure what an email client is. As I wrote to ToddUpton, I've always used yahoo and gotten to Hotmail. I'll try going to Outlook and put that in the address bar and then see if I can get to Hotmail. - D_E_BishopExplorerOkay Todd here we go. I'm online and my homepage is Yahoo, I go to the down arrow(address complete) and click on Hotmail.com and Outlook.com comes up and it looks just like Hotmail but none of my emails come up.
The only email that comes up is one from Outlook.com Team. If I choose dslextreme.com in the address auto complete area, dslextreme.com come up with all our mail.
I've looked at everything I can open but most of the links don't make sense to me. I'm a real user but not to great at setting or installing other than plug and play stuff.
