What is Your Favorite RV GPS??

So with Christmass coming around the corner the wife has asked what I want. Naturally, I want a GPS for the rig. We have a 30 foot Class-C, and I kinda want an RV specific GPS and was wondering what your recommendations, likes, dislikes are in this category?

Thanks for the input everyone! I have been doing allot of rereading and am leaning towards the RV760. I really like that it can accommodate a backup camera.

This brings up the second question. I don't want to upset the forum police, but I was wondering how many people with the RV760 use the wireless backup camera? How many use a wired camera? And, what you like or dislike about the camera and GPS in the same display?

With the van dash, I am limited in space, so I think that an all in one would be great, but then I also think I may want to have the camera and GPS showing at the same time. Especially if I eventually get a dingy tow car.

BC-20 camera works great. Being able to use Garmin display is a greatr feature vs. adding another monitor/Gadget to the dash.
Display is not HD quality but works well enough. Night time view is non existent.
BC 20 connection is clear and reliable however I had to also buy the 35.99 extension cable to get decent performance.
In the end BC-20 camera was still the cheapest way for me to get a decent wireless back up camera

I am using the Garmin BC-30 backup camera with my 2597. works good for "Near" things.

will be using it when my Garmin 770lmthd arrives..

a few say the Wired camera shows up better .. never seen it. but another cable to connect/disconnect.

Because everyone knows computers and electronics is a slow moving industry. What was good last year is still the ticket now.

this morning I ordered the Garmin 770LMTHD. " Truck " unit.

I do not need the RV camp stuff.. but some of the Truck stuff could be useful to me.

depart for South Texas in 2 weeks, and counting.

I discovered the RV760 only works with the BC-20 backup camera.. Per Garmin Website.

anyone know if it will work with the BC-30 camera..

as I have the BC-30
connected to my Garmin 2597LMT, and was looking to get the RV760.... may need to get the Garmin 770LMTHD... instead.

as I also learned the RV 760 is discontinued... for the RV660.

no point going from a 5 inch screen to a 6 inch screen.

In your first sentence you probably mean the 660 only works with the BC 20.

That's why I love the 760 I can use any wired camera on the TT and one on the truck with a simple plug and play

No, I did not mis-type.... on Garmin website... RV760 only works with the BC-20... or does not say it will work with the BC-30. The reason I am asking.

Ok gotcha. I don't like wireless cameras. That's why I love the 760. It has an input for wired camera

We have two Garmin's, don't even know the model numbers but neither one are RV types. The only tight spot we ever got into was when AAA put the wrong street name in their tour book for a POI I wanted to visit. I am sure there are hundreds maybe thousands of times that there is a significant value to having an RV specific GPS, but I haven't run into even one.

Just looked, the old one with a 4" wide screen is a nuvi 2555LTM, the other is 5" wide is a nuvi 55 LM. Both are reconditioned and long time out of production. The navigator(DW) uses the 55 and the driver uses the 2555. Fits better in the legal space allowed for mounting.

The POINT is if the OP had bothered to use the SEARCH feature at the top of the page, the OP would not have posted another thread on the topic.

Every subject there is has been posted at one time or another. If the OP chooses to post again or ask a question I don't think it will send the software into GPS overload.
I was not aware there was a limit on posting on a already discussed topic.
Without fresh post and fresh blood the forum will fade away.
Google is for searches Forums are for posting and discussion.

Back to the OP's question I have been very hapy with my Garmin 760LMT w/ BC-20 camera

And it does this often:

When did you update the Map and POI.. garmin updates them 3 to 4 times a year.

my 3 year old Garmin 2597 has the New 2017 map and poi.. I updated last week.

but out of business places is common. with any brand of GPS.. at best its One year OLD data.
