When is Camping World coming to Canada?

Gee whiz in the world of retail just about everyone has expanded into the great white north.....Canada has no real nationwide presence in RV parts and accessories other then Walmart and Canadian Tire. As for RV sales we have a small chain of "Leisure Day" rv sales located in key markets that all seem to differently operated and hit and miss on after sales service.....

So when can we expect CW?

Hello Glendale 290,

Thank you for your inquiry! We are in fact working on trying to expand into Canada though we don't have any timeframe yet as to when that may happen. Also, I appreciate your suggestion for the .ca website and I will forward this on to see what we can do about making that happen. Please let me know if you need anything else. Thank you for your membership and your time, have a good day!

I would even settle for an 'on-line' Camping World.ca website that ships from a Canadian warehouse. This would save us the cross border shipping fees and 'brokerage charges'. I don't know how it works for a retailer/manufacturer to ship in bulk across the border. I have dealt with a couple of companies that have a warehouse facility (ironically same address for two different US retailers, different products). Paid the price on the Canadian website, only slightly higher than the US price and zero shipping.

There presence here might even lead to a drop in price at local well stocked RV stores.

One personal example was buying a 'quiet hitch U bolt'. Readily available at a local retailer for $69 +/- plus 13% tax = $78+/-
Ordered it from Camping World for $28us plus shipping to Canada $20+ US funds converted to $50 Canadian, and then UPS brokerage fees payable COD of another $26 dollars. Total about $76.

Camping World please come north.

I guess we are lucky here in Ontario.

We have travelled many times to Michigan and even to Elkhart Indiana, only to come home and find what we were looking for and the price being right.

The main issue here in Canada is that if you are not lucky enough to have a well stocked RV store you have to wait 3 or 4 days for a part.

We really don't have a good rv supply store here in the west either. Canadian Tire is marginal and wallyworld has virtually nothing to offer. I needed door struts for the topper, spent a good portion of a Saturday morning talking to the dealers. Nobody was interested in selling parts.:h Finally found an rv dealer that does not offer toppers but carried door struts. They were out of stock on the size I needed but had them in three business days. One would think that somebody would pick up the ball, markups are good and the volume should be there.

Calgarywould be a great place to expand with 1/3 of all Canadian rv sales happening in this province.

Been asking that same question for some time now myself. I'd be anxious to hear what the latest status is.
