Where to place DVD player

OK - I've searched the forum archives and have not seen this issue addressed. The motorhome we are looking at has a really nice TV built into a cabinet area above the counter in the kitchen. There is space behind it to put a DVD player, and it already has the HDMI cable hooked up to the TV. There seems to be only one problem - if the DVD player is located in the cabinet behind the TV, the DVD remote is probably not going to work as there is no line of site, so how do I get line of site? There is no room to mount the DVD player under the shelf, so closest place would have to be on the counter.

I'm sure I'm not the first to run into this. How have you fixed this problem?

My rig has two compartments, one on either side of the TV cabinet, I replaced the panels in the doors with smoked glass. All my peripheral units work with original remotes and the doors look better with the glass panels.

Not the cheapest but t a nice upgrade. I stole the idea from a friend who had his done by a remodel shop.

There are several options. IF you have a I/R remote device that can not see your I/R remote control you just get an IR Remote Extender
https://wiki.ezvid.com/best-ir-remote-extenders?id=bng

The link is an article to some gear mag's top picks in this area.

These work one of two ways..

One: Convert I/R signals from remote to RF (Radio Frequency) transmissions, and then convert back at the "Device" end.

Two: Send it over the Coax. (I like this method better but it is not always practical)

you place the I/R Receier module where it can see your remote.. Place the Transmitter or I/r Blaster (Depending on the model) where the Deice can see it.

Some of these can operate several different I/R remote devices (mine does two or 4, some do up to 8 or 16) so long as they all have different remotes.

Plus, in my case, i can operate my DVR's via LAN but.. Well..they do not make mine any more.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

This looks like the best solution. Thanks.

I use something similar for my security camera DVR system. They work great.

In the RV I just play DVD's off the PC's DVD drive. I have a mini PC with an external USB DVD drive.
