Thanks again for your help from the inexperienced newbies here. When we bought the fiver it had a large analog TV in the living area and a small analog in the bedroom. We replaced both TVs with new models. Large TV works fine on antenna or cable. Small bedroom TV is snowy. Went through the scanning and also brought it back to factory specs. No help. Did change the coax cable to a new one. The cable is white. Not sure if this is due to the 'resistance level'? perhaps we have the wrong cable??Would appreciate any advice and suggestions. You need to scan the new television on the HD (High Def) channels. 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, etc. You are scanning on JUST the old analog. Channel 2 through 89 (I think) will return nothing but snow now. You need to scan for the HD stations now.

I'm no expert but what about the splitter?

Also, a bad connector (poor connection) can also cause snow. Since you put in a different cable, I think I would try to replace that with another new one and make sure it is an RG-6 coax.good luckRon

You need to scan the new television on the HD (High Def) channels. 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, etc. You are scanning on JUST the old analog. Channel 2 through 89 (I think) will return nothing but snow now. You need to scan for the HD stations now.

Can you reach behind that second TV while it is on? If so, half way between where it connects to the TV and wall outlet. Move the cable around and away from the other cables in the area. Does it have any effect on the picture?

What is different about scanning on HD ?? I just see the 'scan channel' option. This is not a HD TV, if that is what you mean?

We will definitely check the cable and the connection seems tight. We did buy a new splitter and it seems fine with the connection.

What do you mean video switch? I see choices in the input that say TV/HDMI/etc. I believe it is correct.

"snowy" indicates your problem. Is the rear TV digital or jut an older analog only version? There are no (or very few) analog tv signals any more. Analog TV have snow with weak or missing signal, Digital TVs either have "no signal" message, or pixilate(break up) if signal is too weak. Combination sets will show "snow" only on Analog channels.
