- donn0128Explorer IIDont see a need for it. Mifi card has sufficient distance for inside most RV's
- sch911ExplorerIMHO chasing a better WiFi connection is a lost cause. Most hotspots are overrun by a few users who stream large chunks of HD video feeds. The back haul on these AP's is overwhelming. Consider getting your own Verizon Jetpack Cellular Adapter, a much better experience.
- joebedfordNomad IIIf you're far from the AP and the signal is weak it will probably help. Hey it's $20 - give it a try and report back. I know many people who have been helped with an external adapter like this one.
I don't have cellular data - don't need it. - Tom_M1ExplorerA better choice would be this: BearExtender. I have one and it works well. It has 1200 mW out versus 100 mW for the "Thingy".

Tom, are there devices that will reach out farther than the BearExtender? - 1775ExplorerI use a range extender/booster from Amped Wireless to boost a weak campground wifi signal. There must be a signal to boost so if your tablet or laptop shows no signal this can't boost what is not there. But if there is a weak signal you connect the extender to the wifi signal and then connect your laptop or tablet to the range extender's own wifi signal. It will boost a signal of 1 to a 5. This has nothing to do with the speed of the connection. You don't get more bandwidth -you just get a strong signal at the bandwidth the campground wifi is putting out.
- Snowman9000ExplorerThere are 4000+ reviews on Amazon. Search the reviews for RV, campground, camping, see what comes up. Not saying don't ask here, just another idea.
- Tom_M1ExplorerRange can be extended by using a higher gain directional antenna such as a yagi.
