Windows 10 and Streets & Trips

Downloaded Windows 10, like it, but now Streets & Trips 2011 won't work. Message "registry settings not copied correctly, run setup again...". Reinstalled, still same message. Anybody able to run streets & trips with windows 10? Or anybody know if other mapping that has been mentioned in other post is working with W10? Thanks
  • There are many experts who say that Window 10 has many bugs to get worked out yet. I would suggest you uninstall Windows 10.
  • Try this: let me know if it solved the issue.

    >In "Program Files (x86)", go to the program folder.

    >Right-click Streets.exe and select "Properties".

    >In the "Compatibility" tab, check "Run as an Administrator".

Close and run the program as usual.
  • FYI: Windows 10 includes a very capable Mapping App nativley. Menu >All Programs > Maps. THis app includes the ability to do do navigation, enter routes, and the maps can be downloaded so that offline navigation is possible. This may be a potential replacement for the now discontinued Streets and Trips.
  • I have S&T 2013 on an 8 year old laptop that I recently upgraded to Win 10. S&T still works fine.

Perhaps uninstalling S&T, then reinstalling would fix the registry issues.

I'm using that on my Surface with the GPS dongle from Streets and Trips - YMMV if this works for you.

W10 Professional is working just fine for me with no bugs.
  • Great job downtheroad! Did like you instructed, thanks much. I owe you a drink of your choice, cold southern sweet tea or a cold beer. Now I don't have to make a quick decision on what mapping program for the future.

Just tried the new Maps program in Win 10. IMO a major failing is that there is no way to enter intermediate waypoints when planning a route. Only a starting point and ending point can be entered. For short trips this may be OK, but for long RV trips I have used intermediate waypoints to force S&T to use the roads I want.

Just by chance do you think I can do the same with S&T 2008 and have it run on my Windows 10 machine?.

Had the same problem (in fact posted about it) Dug out the original CD, did a re-install and re-entered the product KEY

    Works great now.
