- sjturboExplorerThanks for the inputs. I have seen the "mast" idea I believe. I'm thinking about a less expensive camera tripod. As others have said, might be embarrassed to spend $$ on a tripod.

We have a Carryout and I am looking to the inventive/modder members of the forum. Has anyone come up with an alternative to the ladder mount? I have tried the "spare table" idea but would like to mount it higher, maybe.
Higher than what? Someone posted a picture where they mounted the Carryout on a pole and could raise or lower the antenna as necessary. The poster uses a name related to the RV so if you search Casita you might be able to find the picture and information about the setup. - I use the tri-pod. Sometimes I have had to set the unit on a picnic table, couple of times on top of the rig and once on the roof of my toad.

Ours is on a tripod and I have always found that to work well. If we had ours on the ladder where we are right now it would not get reception due to trees blocking the view.
I use the tri pod. No problems so far - Hunter11Explorer IIOurs is on a tripod and I have always found that to work well. If we had ours on the ladder where we are right now it would not get reception due to trees blocking the view.
- rv2goExplorer III've had mine everywhere but the ladder mount which I don't have. I have tied it onto the roof. Both front and back. Did the table thing. Anything to find that signal. I mostly use the tripod.
