We have the auto Wineguard traveler...So far we have only used it when hooked up to power, but we are going to a rally and will be without power..I assume I can get it setup with gernereator on, but without power will it work...I will turn on the inverter for TV as well as generator at times...Inquiring mind needs to know...

You can also turn the controller off after the dish is raised to reduce power consumption when boondocking. Hold the select button and push the power button and it will turn off. These instructions are buried in the manual.

Yes, once the antenna is up and pointed it no longer requires power. When you power things off the antenna will just sit there. When you want to watch TV just power up the TV and receiver and watch TV!
Just be aware that when you power off, the controller display will go out and stay out even when power is restored. DO NOT confuse the fact that the controller is off with the antenna being stowed!!!! You can leave the controller off until you are ready to leave but you will first need to power it on and when it says connected, push power again so it can enter the stow routine.
If you turn the controller power back on and you did not want it to stow it is going to go through a new search routine and then lock back on.

thanks very much...BTW...we love the dish and ease of use...:C

What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?
