Not quite RV related but many of us who have Xfinity internet use their guest hotspots when we travel. If you have one of their rental modems that provides that guest hotspot I recommend that you check your connection speed frequently. I generally got about 75% of the speed that I paid for.

I had a friend tell me it was the Xfinity modem and they intentionally throttle your connection speed. He had his own modem and demonstrated that he consistently connected at or above the speed that he was paying. I decided to buy a quality modem and guess what, I consistently connect at speeds higher than I am paying. Ditch the rental modem and buy a quality modem, you won't regret it.

Combo router / modems are garbage. Especially from the provider.

What modem did you buy?

I'm using the Arris SB6183. I have a large 3200 sq ft house so I use the Netgear Orbi for my wireless connection. While the Orbi is pricey it gives me solid coverage on all 4 levels of the house and on the deck and patio.

I pay for 150mbps but could never connect over 90mbps. With the Arris and Orbi I connect at 175mbps+ anywhere in the house, even wireless.

I have their modem, xfinity blast internet, supposed to 75mb. Every time I've checked it's been over 90mb. That's over wired connection, I'll have to check speed over wireless.
