1st post - hello & camp question

If you plan on getting toys or have toys get a TT that can carry them for me my TT is my toy so no need for that big door in the back good luck have fun

Usually when somebody ask about a UTV they naturally think of fast, loud razrz. But my mule is just a stock one I use at my deer lease

Any feedback?

Now we're cuttin' to the chase...Dad wants to bring his toys! I'm here to tell you that "utes" are forbidden in campgrounds practically everywhere...you're gonna be walkin' to the bathroom, my friend.

Good news is that places where baby carriages/strollers are forbidden are nonexistent.
Well, except for those "Geezer-Only" over 55-parks, anyway.:)

If you go with the pull-down bunk be sure to check the clearance needed for the ROP bars on your Mule. My Arctic Cat Prowler won't clear any pull-down bunks that I know of. A friend of ours liked my Prowler and was going to buy one but found out, in time, it wouldn't clear the bunks in his 30' fiver... Just a thought...

Check Dutchmen Voltage Toy Hauler. They come in the 30 foot to 40 foot range. I have a 32 foot.

toy haulers also give you a lot of versatility. My bay has not only a dining room set but a dishwasher. We dont want a washer right now but the hookups are there. It also has a second queen size bed that lowers electrically from the ceiling. Our cargo door on the rear drops horizontal to the ground with 3 foot screened guard railing all around. Sometimes we just leave it open for the dog and since the railing goes all around we dont worry about her falling off or jumping off. there is even an awning over the rear decking. We even haul our toys in the bay like our motorcycle or golf cart. You can even haul your own furniture if you wished. Oh btw its a/c in the back with its own tv.

Check out a TH before making your decision.

Welcome.... Our camping began with a boating trip and a remote on shore camp. The tent was a tarp draped over a rope tied between two trees. Our bed was the boat cushions. During a night time lightning/rain storm the raccoons broke into our food box. Working our way up we now have a bumper pull toy hauler. I didn't want to give up the covered truck bed for storage then later a place to take the dogs, in trade to pull a fiver. Your family is small, yet, so you probably don't need a lot of plush space. A trip with two dogs convinced us that even if we couldn't ride toys anymore nor had dogs we would still have a toy hauler for the convenience of the open space to convert to whatever we needed. On a Yellowstone trip we had the dogs, their beds, a couple coolers, trash can, extra table for misc. "stuff", folding chairs, etc. Our trailer came with a carpet to put down when not hauling ATVs. An accessory "wall" pulled down to hide the ramp/wall. The TV was mounted in the "garage" section as not to give us cross-eyes looking at it 7'feet across the trailer. When boondocking you can drop the ramp and experience the "all outdoors" while being inside. No one can advise you of what's best for you. I guess you just have to consider the pros & cons of what's best for others and apply them to your situation. A trailer of your size will have a front permanent bed. Most TH have the PITA pull-down bunks in the rear. I would INSIST on a Murphy Bed in place of the pull-down bunks. Bulky, always in the way, pull downs were invented by Satan..... IMO ... One good thing, you have the horse to handle anything you decide to buy...

Welcome! Our "baby" was 2 months old when we began camping with a van and a tent in 1983.

We have fond memories. I emptied the cooler, filled with warm water and gave my dirty little toddler a bath in it. (you need to be creative when tent camping with children!)

We moved to a Class b, then a Class C. Went back to tent camping for seven years and now it's just the two of us with the dog in another Class B.

We love camping and hope that you and your family will have many great memories, no matter what type of TV or tent you camp in!

I don't think you'll find many fifth wheel TH's in "the 30' range" better add 6-7 ft.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good advice available. My wife and I wish we had bought a camper of some kind to use while the kids were growing up. We did some tent camping but could have done more traveling with a trailer. Our now grown kids still camp with us but they still prefer a tent. Happy camping memories to you.

I don't know if you want a toy hauler or not, but.....

Babies come with all sorts of gadgets, gear and paraphernalia. A toy hauler would allow you to haul your "toy", then set the baby up in the garage (make sure there are no fumes, etc.) and have all the baby stuff in that one area. Lots of room, and storage.

Baby WILL grow up and there may be another one down the road and this room with grow with the family, allowing more kids and still lots of storage room.

TH's are a little pricey, but look for one that you like that is a couple or 3 years old. That way, someone else is taking the hit with the new and working out the problems and you save the $$.

If you don't like it, it's not like you will have to bite the bullet and lose several thousand $$ when you re-sale.
