I don't have a DP so I can't give you advice on which model to avoid.

Condition is the most important factor when buying a used RV. A low end unit in excellent condition is usually a better choice than a high end unit in poor/fair condition.

Take you time looking, don't be in a hurry to buy.

And, ask lots of questions. There is plenty of information and experience available on the forum.

The Alfa See Ya had problems with delamination of the side panels. There isn't any good repair except replacement, which is expensive.

As gbopp noted, condition is the most important factor. Check very closely for roof leaks. The damage is very difficult to repair.

Diesel is great for traveling, but if you're going to use it to live in, consider a gas rig. The total price will be cheaper. You'll be able to afford a much newer gas rig, then a comparable diesel pusher just because the chassis of a diesel is more expensive.

Both Newmar and Tiffin are top shelf brands. I own a Newmar and have nothing but good things to say about it.

Regardless of brand, demand to see service records and don't buy one that has no documented maintenance history.

I was told to avoid Alpha's and look at Newmar, Country Coach and Tiffin.

We have also been looking for a class A about the same price. We found a lot of high end units that were trashed and so cheaper gas units that were kept clean. I think we will end up with gas for our first one and if we really like it maybe trade up. You won't find a diesel for that price that still looks new

Unless your near retirement, and plan on a lot of traveling in the near future I'd go gas. Since your a GB and don't need massive storage space, is another reason. You may find a good buy on a diesel coach, but their expensive to maintain and operate compared to gas. You can find a nice, newer gas coach in your price range. Diesel, 45-55K 1999-2004, more options on gas, 2005-2012. Just a guess though. Good luck. PM me if I can help in anyway. I did hear negative on Alfa's also because of the delam issue. Brand bashing is popular here some times so get an experienced RV'er to inspect your purchase with you if this is all new to you. Ok so looking at the gas RVs is there a difference between the Chevy or Ford? Is one really better than the other?

My first class A was a 32 footer gasser on a Ford F-53. Other than riding and driving like a truck, it had no issues.
