I have a 21 foot full height/width TT I've towed around with a small diesel SUV. First a Jeep Libby CRD, now a BMW X5 35d, when towing, I get around 14 average at 60 mph. Worst tank, 9 into a 50 mph headwind; best tank 18 with a strong tailwind.
21 ft full height and width 21 foot TT I tow with a 2013 Touareg TDI AWD SUV that weighs a full 5000 pounds. 57-58 MPH yields 16.5 to 19.5 MPG's on 4 trips from L.A. to Yellowstone, 500 to 550 miles per day.
31 to 34-35 MPG's when empty, 31 mostly city, 34 -35, all interstate. Most of CA freeways have a speed limit of 65, so that's about the speed I travel when on the freeways.
