Just file a small slot (the size of the surrounding cabinet/wall thickness) in the bottom of the drawer sides just behind the face. Then you will need to slightly lift the drawer to start pulling it out. All of my drawers came that way from the manufacturer.
  • I drilled a hole under the seat cushion and would drop a nail into the hole. Make sure you make the hole large enough so the nail goes in and out easily.

I use these too. They also come in a 10 pound version. I used the 10# version on a drawer I made under the dinette seat since it is a large drawer full of shoes and boots.
  • Childproof safety latches work for many people, particularly the designs that have a magnetic key to open them. Many of them have a lever to engage or disengage so you can use the drawer normally while stopped and then latch it while en route.

Avoid storing the magnetic key in the locked drawer.
