Y'all seem to be missing the point that there's differences between a proper long term layup for an engine, a good enough semi short term layup and just plain lack of maintenance. And then there's keeping something in shape by "exercising" it.
Now I understand the theory about generators, but I don't believe it. I've had gennys sit for years and they still pumped out power when fired up.
Bottom line, before the internet, I used to put my sled up on blocks and run out all the fuel (carbed), other maintenance and fog the engines in the summer. As the years have passed, I have less time to devote to OCD practices, I've learned what works and what doesn't.
