Aren't wash tubs galvanized?
I have never seen one, some are stainless, had one of them. These are enameled.
Here is a stainless one
Perhaps Effy is really from a past era.
The washtubs used for fire rings are from an automatic washer and as IAMICHABOD said, they are either enameled or stainless steel. The wastubs that were galvanized are the ones from the early part of the last century where you used a washboard and had a manual wringer.
Actually, they were used long after the "washboard era". My mother had a set on the farm that she used with a Maytag gas engine powered washing machine. Yes, it had a wringer, no spin cycle.
Well, actually, it didn't have "cycles" it was on or off!
She used the same tubs in town when she had an electric wringer washing machine.
Here in Montana, don't bother to bring your firepits, especially during the late summer. You won't be allowed to use them in the back country campgrounds, and many RV parks won't allow it either.
