We made our first trip this weekend. We went to a campground about 45 miles from home, and had an absolute blast. Can't wait to do it again in a couple of weeks! I feel like a little kid learning about all of the ins and outs of our camper.

Congrats! We just did our first trip out this weekend as well (thread in the travel trailer forum).You know, I really believe that a bologna sandwich while camping tastes better than steak and lobster at a fine restaurant!

Welcome to the RV world. It's very habit forming and tons of fun. Sure beats pitching a tent and blowing up an air mattress.

I will second this recommendation. Florida has one of the best state park systems in the nation. If you need some ideas, let me know. I am "fla-gypsy" for a reason.

Congrats, glad you had fun. Get a map of your state and start exploring your backyard.

Google Roadside America and see some of the unusual things that might be in your state - giant catsup bottle outside St Louis, MO, Pontiac,IL learn the history of Route 66 - 4 museums there and all free and friendly place.

I agree even a PB&J tastes better in the RV. Only pack your clothes once and not pack and unpack for every hotel stop.

I agree - RV trips can be addictive and habit forming - but what a great habit.
