I tow a stick shift Jeep Wrangler 4 down. Once I'm attached to my 'C', I put the Jeep in one of the gears just to keep the transmission from needlessly spinning, put the transfer case in Neutral and turn the ignition key to the first stop to unlock the steering. A reminder: be sure to set the emergency brake before unhooking at the CG for the night unless you want to chase it down the road. Don't ask me how I know that.
