Gas Grills?

Looking for suggestions on grills: what does everyone do? We're thinking of getting a propane grill that we can hook to the outside gas connection. If that's what everyone does, which grills are best? Any that have problems?

The Weber Q series is definitely a popular choice among RV'ers. You see them everywhere. For my taste, the Q doesn't get hot enough. We like our steaks and burgers charred on the outside and med-rare inside. We had the Q-120 and it just would not do that for us.

After a lot of searching, we settled on a Solaire carryout. It's an IR grill that is the hottest I have ever used. If you like to slow cook anything on low heat, this is not the grill for you. Even at it's lowest setting, it is really hot. For us, though, it is perfect.........

That setup works fine if you have an external tank to connect to, then you're good to go. If you carry an extra 20 gal tank (or smaller) for bbq, it's fine.

Won't work with the quick disconnect fitting on trailers.

we use the COLEMAN ROADTRIP grill....it folds up and is easy to move. cast iron grates ensures they won't rust out as cheaper grills do. uses the 2lb. propane canisters...but you could do a hook up to larger tanks. Bought it at basspro but I know they are on amazon and other places.

Been using the Weber Q100 for 3yrs camping and at home. Very solid w/o thin metal. All cast material. Weber grills are more expensive than the rest but seem to have the better grilling and durability. We had a Weber Genesis model they don't make anymore for yrs and last year gave it to one of our sons since its just the wife and I at home we just use our Q100. You will need to remove the Weber's regulator if using it on the RV's BBQ gas line.

I do not think you can go wrong with a Weber and is what I use at home and planed to buy for the camper. That was until my neigbur who camps with us showed us this one in action.

Cooks even, runs much hotter then any smaller BBQ I have seen and all parts are stainless steel. Below are pictures of my conversion from the tank connect to the quick connect.

Says it's made from cold rolled steel. Can't imagine it'll last very long........

Weber Q 100 is what I carry. Reasonably compact and best I've ever used. I carry a 1 gal propane tank.

I have a Weber Q 220 that I haven't yet used! I can tell you, however, that after a whole winter of checking reviews the Webers are by far the favourites with many, many faithful users.

Check out an electric grill. Only uses about 1500 watts; I carry an extension cord and plug directly into the 30am service with adapter or 110 if available at power pole. Add smoke chips container and SET the thermostat so you move about, visit, etc. without constantly watching for flame ups and overcooking.

Amazon and others has several brands priced under 100.00 with good reviews.
yes, I also carry a small charcoal grill but rarely use it.
