Looking for a new trailer ...

Wasn't sure where to put this question, since I am open to both FW and TT so here goes. I currently have a 25' TT with no slides. We have been camping more and more and feel like we would really like something with more space. Since we have had a couple trailers already, I feel like I really know what I want, but can't seem to find the perfect model. So here goes .. looking for some models to check out.

5th wheel or TT
3/4 ton towable (2012 GMC Sierra 2500 SLE 6.0L)
King bed -- Nice to have
residential size shower -- Nice to have
bunks - must
bottom double - nice
large gray tank (50+ gal) - must
bathroom at front with master bdrm - if 5th wheel - nice
at least 1 slide - must
large awning (18' or so ) - nice to have
exterior propane hookup for BBQ - nice to have (can be added later easy enough)
outside kitchen -- must
large fridge in outdoor kitchen - nice to have
access to bathroom from outside - nice
outdoor speakers - must
Under $25K (new or used to meet price range)

So ... I would love to hear what everyone has .. we have been out a bunch of times to view in person, and been searching online. We have found lots of models that have some (or lots) of these features, but don't really want to settle if there is something out there that meets all the criteria.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I did see that on a model once and thought it was "weird". That's just me though. That's why the make different models and floorplans.
  • From my research, the Winnebago trailers are better than average. This one may meet your needs:

But this model doesn't have outside kitchen.

For outside kitchen option, but no separate door for bathroom:

http://winnebagotowables.com/one-floorplans# and look at the 32BH.

Only you can determine whether you want a fifth wheel or trailer and there are tons of threads on the pros and cons of each. Of course, the most important point is to make sure that whatever you choose, that your tow vehicle can handle it comfortably! Personally, I still think it best to stay 10 to 15% below maximum tow ratings as it will avoid undue stress on the tow vehicle and make for a better towing experience.

Good luck on your search....take your time and really look at as many options as possible. Make a list of trailers/fifth wheel units that meet your needs, and then compare carefully for quality, and for a dealership that will provide top notch warranty service and other services past the warranty period.

Our Sprinter Select 31BH had an accessible bathroom from inside and out.

Plenty of trailers with doors from the bathroom to the outside. Not sure how many TT have king beds, this might be a 5er thing. If you can find a used premier bullet 31 bhpr or North Trail 32 BUDS or 30 QOK you might see something you like.

The premier bullet looks promising .. thanks.

I think most all of their lines has one with bunks outside kitchen and an outside door to the rest room.

The 312QBUD looks interesting, and one I have not seen yet. Thanks!!

Sure there is. Any large tree not visible by other campers.
  • We have a 25 ft. rear kitchen TT. It has a slide. There are two exterior doors-one goes right into the bathroom. Queen bed, there is an outside valve to connect a stove to the propane supply. It's a Coachman Catalina. No outside kitchen but we cook outside with our own equipment-the rear kitchen is nice because the fridge is right next to the back door. Large awning, exterior speakers.
