We have a car hauler with a 50 amp male plug, and a Powerhouse 6500 Generator with a 30 amp 120V receptacle, and a 30 amp 120/240V receptacle. My question is:What type of adapter do we need, and which of these receptacles should we be using??

You should use the 120/240 outlet and get an adapter chord (dogbone) that goes from 50amps to a 30 amp male plug.

So we should use the four-prong receptacle??

OK my 30amp on my gen is a 3 prong unit not four.

This end should plug into your genset then you get the dogbone that will go from this to your 50amp.
