Overwhelmed Newbies--Help!

My husband and I are buying our first travel trailer and we are frustrated with all the choices and little direction on what will work best for us as well as our tow vehicle, so I am asking you experience folks for some suggestions.

First off, we will be weekend camping at campgrounds in and around our home state of WV (read hilly). Our TV is a 2014 Nissan Frontier King cab V6, which I believe has a towing capacity of 6,500 lbs. We are looking at lightweight 18-20 foot travel trailers, used. Our budget is under $10,000. We would go a little higher for quality. The only travelers will be the two of us and our furbabies (two spoiled rotten yorkies, who created this desire for TT in the first place! Have I mentioned, they’re spoiled?)

From what I’ve seen so far, I really like the layout and looks of the:
  • Fun finder X 189 FBS, (my husband like the narrower 7’ width for tow purposes)
    Fun finder X 189 FBR
    Shadow Cruiser M-185 FBS,
Flagstaff Micro lite 18 FBRS, and
    Rockwood Mini lite 18 FBRS.

See a pattern? Also, I like the extra room the slides provide, however I’m a little concerned about the extra weight. We may add a tantem kayak in the future, possibly adding an additional 100 pounds (including rack) to the TV. My husband’s main concern is towing—the most he has towed is a utility trailer back and forth to Lowes.

Ok, while writing this, my husband found a used 2010 Fun Finder X 189 FBR for $11,000. From the pictures, it’s in great condition; however, we will need to make a trip this weekend to see it in person before making a final decision. So, any suggestions/comments needed ASAP! Is the Fun Finder a good choice at that price or keep looking?
