printable Zip code maps

I would like to find a map of each state with zip codes printed on them. Having the zip code for the area I am in would allow me to get my aiming specs from the material already downloaded from Dish network. Eastern or western arc. I would be able to aim my portable dish much easier when traveling. Thanks..jimdonothing@yahoo.com

Thought comes to me... Why do you need a zip code map?

If the idea is to know where you are so your Sat Receivr will give you directions.

When you check in and pay for your site.. It is usually on the register tape.
  • If you have a "smart phone", get the app "Where Am I". It will give you your current location including zip code. I use mine while the wife is inside registering...by the time she comes back to the coach, I've already called Dish to change our service address so that by the time we get set up, the receiver is ready to go with nearest "big city" locals. Locals are not always from the state you are located in...we were in south Georgia last week and our locals were from Florida since the nearest, as the crow flies big city was located next door. Just like an OTA antenna, you get the closest signal supplier whether that is in your state or not and not all cities are set up to repeat their locals via satellite.
  • Just the state of Ohio has 1450 zip codes. If you printed out a map on 8 1/2 x 11 paper it would be too small to read. I bet the campground operator knows what the zip code is.

If this is like Directv, you cannot simply enter a zip code and get your locals.
  • Am I correct that you want the zip code so you can tune in to the local stations where you are instead of the 'default' stations back home? If so, please tell us all how to make that change in the receiver. I've been wanting to change my home reception ever since Dish started with "local" stations. Yeah, local. We're in SW Okla and they give us Texas stations. Nothing against the great state of Texas but being Okies we have no use for Texas news, weather, politics, etc.
  • Street Atlas will provide the zipcode for everywhere.
    I've never seen any need.

The only person I know that uses satellite uses it for internet and he aims his antenna based on Lat/long that he gets from his GPS.

  • I guess if you're in an area with no cell data service, that would be handy. I'm rarely in one of those places. That's going to be a lot of paper.
  • I found this: http://www.unitedstateszipcodes.org/mi/ ... it provides maps by state.
  • Don't know about a map of zip codes. Did you google?
I stay in rv parks and they provide their zip code.
