Rhino hose or slinky sewer hose?

Looked at the sewer line hose length thread and this was brought up a little.

What are the pros and cons of the slinky hose vs. the Rhino hose that holds its shape? Maybe a piece of each? Hate to get in a tussle with the slinky hose.

Is the 90 degree elbow a must have or will the hose make the curve into the hole? The 90 degree doesn't fit in my hose storage tube so it would have to be stored elsewhere.

Thanks.

I have the more flexible Viper hose. I use a 90 degree fitting. Stores nicely in the 5" vinyl fence post strapped under the trailer frame.

My OEM tank flush has a backflow preventer valve built in. I bought a 3' long green hose and put a backflow preventer on each end. I put the 3' long green hose on the tank flush, then use the drinking water hose to the spigot. I figure that 3 backflow preventer valves in-line should do the trick.

I do use a separate hose for the flush system, it is also used for wash-down and draining the galley tank. Using the drinking water hose just brings on the yuck factor, and likely not a problem, because it is still connected to drinking water at the other end. I never leave it connected when not in use.

For the sewer hose, I use the cheap brown ones from Walmart, they last years for me.

I use a green garden hose for my flush connection. With a Y shutoff valve at the faucet, I leave both hoses connected.

Rhino also sells a 15’ extension in case you ever need extra length.

Went down to buy the Rhino. It is 23 mils vs. the slinky at 15 mils, and it had the clear elbow, gave up 5 ft in length.

Are people using the drinking water hose for flushing or should a separate hose be used for that?

Tetford's new hoses... they are flexible.. They do not compress down as much as the RHINO for storage but they are nice. Current name for the hose is TITAN.

The Rhino is by far the best hose I've used. It's tough and seems to last forever. I also like the collapsing feature. Really helps storage. JMHO

Rhino will fit in the bumper, 2 when compressed. The inside is smooth so no it does not hold anything. The Rhino ends swivels so you just line it to the bumper corners. Like it was said, yes you need the 90 elbow, get a clear one so you are able to see when it's running clear dumping.

Re the Rhino, being compression in some portions, wouldn’t it have a tendency to hold foreign particles in the folds, being difficult to wash out?

How about storage? I’d think “breathing “ holes in the tube would let the thing dry out and keep humidity down inside the tube. Keep surprises to a minimum.

I prefer the Rhino because you can compress it and it will stay compressed. Just pull out what you need instead of having the full length stretched out on the ground.

I think the 90 degree is necessary. Otherwise you would have a “hump” at the discharge that would hold some water from going down.

I like the slinky, it fits in the bumper. It won't bend 90 degrees, I carry the elbow and outlet in a marine battery box mounted on the front of the trailer along with other implements of destruction.
