Surge protectors

I have a 30 amp service in my unit and I wanted to know if I can safely use a 50 amp protector or should I buy the 30 amp.Reasoning being if I bought another rv down the road I would be covered if it was 50 amp.
  • The 50 amp unit will work just as well but cost a lot more.

This is kind of a tough call.

While it's true that a model with a higher "capacity" might do OK, the more adapters you put into the line, the more loss there will be and just two more things to go wrong/wear out/cause trouble.

If I ever end up doing much shore power, I think I'll go with the 30 amp model.
