The easier to cool idea sounds like a good Mythbusters show. While I'm sure the white ones reflect more heat than the others, I suspect it is a much, much smaller margin than many people are implying, maybe even not measurable by normal, household methods.
Cost of manufacturing is a far better theory. Most people probably don't want to pay more for non-white sides.
park a black car next to a white car in the sun and see which one warms up first.
bumpy - Ric_FlairExplorerbecause the manufacturers are racists.

- Markiemark32ExplorerCosts, ease of manufacturing, less chance of sitting on a weird color, etc.......
We get a lot of thumbs up with our Taupe one --->
Starting to see more color options, lately!

To really be able to tell, you'd have to sit the same model with the same options, but in white, right next to it and leave the AC off. Put a thermometer in each and see what the difference is.
It'd really only make a difference if the sun is hitting the side walls. As far as I've seen they don't paint the roof on these darker trailers.
yep, newer one not white, probably has newer better windows, better insulation etc. and after paying $4000 for something it is human nature to not notice defects.

- deleted-2ExplorerNice trailer viper.
I like it... - viper48ExplorerSpeaking as someone that has a black camper I cant really tell the difference between it and a white one as far as being hotter on the inside. We camped one time this year and it was in the 90's and the 15,000 btu ac unit did a great job cooling down our 31ft toy hauler.
Plus it is nice being the only one in the CG having a black camper and we sure do get a lot of people looking at it as they go by. We actually ordered the hauler in white and when it came in the floor was screwed up and we refused to take the unit so the dealer found us this black one and we took it.
