I will be leaving on my first BIG camping adventure the first of Sept. I'm excited to be traveling from Virginia .. westward.. eventually landing at yellowstone for a bit..

Anyone have suggestions? Best places to go or stay?

Be sure to take some warm clothing. At 8,000 ft. above sea level, it gets cold in YNP. OTOH, its a great time to go. School has resumed, so the crowds are down quite a bit. Fishing Bridge is the only CG inside the park with hookups. You may need some heat at night.

We try to stay at Madison campground in Yellowstone in Sept-Oct when it is open.
Fishing Bridge is the only campground in Yellowstone with hook ups.
We stay at West Yellowstone at Buffalo Crossing RV park. It is downtown West Yellowstone next to the Imax Theater.
