'06 Pontiac Solstice stick, can it be towed?

Hey Gang,
Before anyone goes haywire here, I've checked the '06 Dinghy Towing Guide for Pontiacs and, all it lists for '06 is a Vibe and a G6. Now, this is a stick unit and, in past history, many sticks can be flat towed but, this is not "History" it's a now-a-days car and, there might be complications and or, DAMAGE of some sort. We are considering purchasing this car and, one of the considerations/reasons for purchasing is, we would like to tow it.

As an example of this scenario that's already been exhibited is, the later model VW cars. Volkswagen of America DOES NOT AUTHORIZE any of it's fleet to be flat towed. Yet, there are plenty of folks out there in RV land that, are doing just that. I have spoken with quite a few of them at camp sites and RV parks and, not one of them has had, any issues with their VWs what so ever. Now, does this mean it's that easy with the Solstice? Not sure.

Now, I haven't dug into the owners many 'cause WE HAVEN'T BOUGHT IT YET! So, I thought I'd ask, JUST IN CASE, someone is, BY CHANCE, already towing one and is not having any issues. I might try and dig around on the net and see if I can find an owners manual and see what it says. I got a feeling that it probably will tell me it's NOT TOWABLE since, it's not listed in the Dinghy Towing Guide. We'll see. But, I thought I'd ask and see. Thanks
Scott
  • It will say in the owners manual if it ok or not to flat tow.
  • I towed my Turbo Solstice on a flat bed trailer, it was an Automatic so flat tow was not considered.
  • From Remco's website.

Notes: Must be towed using a trailer

They don't even make a kit for them, so must be more to it.
