2008 Chevy Silverado Trailer Wiring

Hi all,
I'm wiring up my truck to tow a travel trailer. I have the brake controller in and working and the tail, turn and brake lights work OK. It's a factory installed hitch and wiring. The only thing I don't have is 12V to the trailer so that it will charge the batteries while driving. Is there a fuse that needs to be installed or a connection that needs to be connected? Or do I have to run a wire back to the 7 pole connector? Thanks!
  • Thanks to all who replied. Got r done. The wire I needed was taped to the harness under the master cylinder, red with a white tracer. I secured it to the 6mm stud on the fuse box and put a 40 amp maxi fuse in at position 68. The fuse position is obvious because the tab from the stud is part of the blade for the fuse and you can wiggle it!
  • I remember that when I hooked mine up that I had to buy the 6mm nut and that the fuse was already installed. The wire is between the circuit breaker box and the inner fender.
  • There is a fuse/relay that needs to be installed. They should be in the glove compartment, read owners manual for the instructions.
