Did the Elements convert to AWD in the latter years? Mine is 4WD, but normally operates in 2WD mode?

According to Honda's North American dealer service site, Elements are towable using similar CR-V procedures. Though doesn't specify years? Guide here.

That guide will tell you the Element is not towable. As I mentioned in a prior post.

The Element shares a drivetrain with the CRV which IS approved for towing but for whatever reason, Honda chose not to approve the E.

I have towed my 2011 E tens of thousands of miles following Honda's CRV procedure,

I tow a 2011 Element 2WD. The manual says it isn't towable.

Here is the deal; for whatever reason, Honda said the CRV is towable (both 2WD and AWD) but the Element is not EVEN though they share the same drive train.

Tow away. But you must do "The procedure".

Idle the engine, run the shifter down through the gears slowly,
then back up (1,2,D, N) and let it idle five minutes.

Never, ever go from R to N.

Trans fluid schedule changes to every 30,000 miles.

Definitely check your owners manual. REMCO indicates the 2011 Element 4WD can be towed as is but, not recommended over 65 mph.

#1Flyboy, I've got a 2010 AWD. Owners manual says no towing. Move it on a flatbed. Suggest you check your manual.
