2015 Lincoln MKT

Does anyone have issues with towing a 2015 Lincoln MKT four wheels down?

Thanks
  • I can't answer your question.
But, thank you for your service to our country.
  • Your owner's manual covers this. I looked up the pertinent sections for you:

You may not flat tow this car with a 2.0 liter engine.

If you have a 3.5L or 3.7L engine, you may flat tow, but there are several caveats that you must follow:
    1. Tow only in the forward direction.
    2. Release the parking brake
    3. Place the transmission in neutral.
    4. place the ignition in the accessory position.
    5. Do not exceed 65 MPH
    6. Start the engine and allow it to run for five minutes at the beginning of each day and every six hours thereafter. With the engine running and your foot on the brake, shift into Position D and then into Position R before shifting back into Position N.

It is imperative that you not tow your all-wheel drive version with the front wheels on a tow dolly and the back wheels on the ground. Serious damage will occur to your all-wheel drive system. It either has to be flat bed trailer towed or towed with all four wheels on the ground.

  • And after reading an excerpt from an owners manual I believe with the 2015 you have to disconnect the battery
  • Don;t forget, in neutral, when switching key, in accessory position, to leave your foot, off the brake.
