5th Wheel Hitch Adapter for Puck Systems

Any idea if there is a universal adapter that a B&W hitch would work with for a puck system? I have a 2020 Chevy HD on order and my Patriot is new; I'd hate to have to buy a new hitch.

I got into a forest service campground with a very tight turn to get back out. Without my slider not sure I could have got out.
  • I've been towing FWs with 6' 9" bed Fords since 99 with non sliding hitches. The GM trucks have the longest distance from rear axle center to cab, so should be a non issue.

  • It exists, but it isn't cheap:
Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Ram OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package - 25,000 lbs. Currently listed for $540. (Which is crazy, I spent $406 last August.)

By the time you buy that, you could likely sell your Patriot and buy the Companion hitch for your truck's pucks.

I agree...while the Patriot is a great hitch, the direct fit to pucks is a better idea. You will add a couple inches of height by using an adapter, that you likely don't want.

YES, good point on the additional height!!!

Yep, I bought a B&W puck hitch for my new ram it's not the slider for my SB but you can turn the pivot leg in reverse and get another 2' to 3' out of it but I'm still using my head. The puck for my truck was $697.00 I have it now but just haven't put it together.

    Give B&W a call.

I believe that B&W sells the puck base for about $700, your head will fit. it will fit the pucks.
