5x5 Vinyl Fence Posts on Closeoutl

I was just at my local Home Depot. They have 8 foot 5x5 vinyl fence posts on sale/closeout for $9.06. These are the ones that are used for making the storage container the stinky slinky and regularly sell for over $25.

These are a light tan color called Wicker and come with one cap glued in place. I purchased a couple of the flat caps, cut off the one glued in place, and bought a can of Valspar paint that is an exact color match to the post and made for painting plastic. I am going to wire tie this on top of my bumper after I complete the end cap latches.

Just posting this heads up for anyone intersested in making the slinky storage container as this is a great buy.

The close out is on the color wicker/tan. White is a regular item and not discontinued.
The color did not matter to me as it matches my camper color. A lot of people paint them black anyway and I might do that eventually.

Folks may want to check out Lowes if they want white - that's what they had on clearance.

That slider is slick, nice job.

Without the "pull" method illustrated, the slider can be used
as a slinky support between (all or some) of the distance between
your RV and the sewer connection..;)

X2 to that may need to add one to mine!

I plan on relocating mine to a spot just in front of the Grey Water tank where it will be closer to the Drain connection.

Thanks, guys.
Yeah, I can't remember who first posted the gutter in the post cover idea but it works slick as heck. I attached on top of the original bumper because I'm going to be doing a sewer makeover this Spring. I didn't want to put a lot of work into mounting below the frame rails, only to take it all apart.

I plan to make a couple more of these as they can be used for other things like awning poles, fishing rods, antennas, etc.

Great price, thanks for posting. I got my first one on sale, too! I'll be checking my local HD to see if they have the tan ones on sale. These make great carriers.

FWIW, here's mine bolted on top of the original bumper. I used four sections of threaded rod, a couple of pieces of aluminum plate, and fasteners:

4" x 4" x 72" vinyl. I have no idea why.

and yes, I am using one for my sewer hose too. But I paid full price. Oh, use nylon cable ties instead of wire. Will hold up better.

Lowes had the same ones on close-out several months ago for the same price.
Wonder what they're replacing them with.
