adhesive tape for skirting?

my furnace broke yesterday. its the gas relay valve. due to new years holiday, it wont ship til tuesday....

meanwhile:
i am trying to put up a qiuck n dirty skirt as the electric heater and honda 2000 can only do so much here in pennsylvania.

i have 4 mil plastic from the paint department, and blue painters tape. i like the tape because it wont leave gum when i pull it off later, but it doesnt seem to like the plastic so much. maybe its the plastic material, or the cold.. or both?

any better tape choices?

    You might want to come up with something to last more than a few days as it would help reduce the amount of propane you use anyway. We have seem foam board used and also installed on the outside box of the slide outs to further insulate them.

    yeah, theres probably a good reason that every time i see someone skirting, they are putting wood frames n stuff in. lol.

    the tape i mentioned above is holding well.
    we will see what happens the next windy day. i will be keeping a close eye on it

    You need to use something rigid for skirting. Light weight plastic and tape will never stay in place. Try some foam board, or plywood. If all else fails go around it with hay bales.

    i picked up clear packing tape and found a roll of duck brand tape that says "for plastic sheeting"

    Maybe wait for it to warm up a little, hopefully in the next few days?

    Then try Gorilla brand duct tape. That stuff really holds.

    i went inside to warm up.
    came out and ALL of the plastic is on the ground. the tape likes the RV, doesnt like the plastic.

    it may be high density poly... hmm.. ethelyne?
    the stuff nothing wants to stick to? milk bottle plastic.

    thats a very creative idea.

    im in a bit of a hollow, but the wind still whips up.
    and the dirt always wants to turn into mud. its a lovely vacation spot.

    How about putting the blue tape where you're going to use the plastic. Then use duct tape on the plastic and on top of the blue tape?

    Are you protected from the wind? In my area the wind would make short work of the tape and plastic.
