adjust WD hitch or leave the wife & dog at home? :p

So, we loaded up the trailer, had half a tank of water, all our gear, etc and I went by the scales.

3180 front tv axle
4160 rear tv axle
6840 trailer axles

Going by the spec sheet, Im under my 15k gcvw but 210lbs over my rear axle weight limit. I do have a bit of squat. not much though. So will adjusting my WD redistribute that better over the front off the rear, or do I just need to find a way to loose 210lbs off the back axle??
  • Payload is 1500lbs.

I dont put water in either, but the dealer had the tank full from the lot. So thats 200lbs i can loose from the trailer (sticker says 400 full tank)
  • Readjusting the hitch as mentioned above will help.

I never put water on board until I'm near my destination.

Move what you can from the front of the coach to the back

A bit of a squat won't hurt, but if you don't like that after pulling a few times there are many assists that can be added to the rear. I have a pair of 500# overloads that solved mine.

What is your "payload" capacity of the TV ? How does that compare to what your actual weight is loaded ?

Readjust the hitch and I'll bet you'll be under 100 lbs over on the rear axle.

Then you can still bring the dog! :B

    :D Thanks!
