Adjustable water regulator

I have a Valterra adjustable water regulator, while at West Yellowstone the water line froze, not very hard just enough to stop the flow of water for a little while in the morning.

Now the regulator will not go back to zero when unhooked from the water supply. It just stays at 45psi. When I hook it back up it goes to from 45 to 85psi.

Is there a way to reset it back to zero or is it down and needs to be replaced?

Mine did the same thing I went to Lowes Home Improvement store bought a new water gauge for a couple bucks & now it works fine again

The pressure guage is toast. It is a bourdon tube guage and that means that it used a bent and flattened tube that tries to straighten with increasing pressure. Well, freezing it sure increases the pressure.....

Just buy a new pressure gauge and screw in into the hole.

The regulator is probably just fine if it doesn't leak to the outside.

I agree. The gauge is shot. I took the gauge off of mine and replaced it with a 1/8" MIP brass plug. Once the regulator is set, you shouldn't have to change it again. I DO have a gauge with a garden hose connector so I can check water pressure at the hydrant to see if I need the regulator, and again after the regulator if I feel it is necessary. Any big box hardware store should have that plug, and the "Teflon" tape you need to seal the threads.

Most likely you just need a new gage... not the entire regulator..
