All Around Cameras

I just bought a new Nissan Murano and it has a birds eye view screen on its monitor that shows your vehicle and views from the front, back and sides from 4 cameras. It is so easy to use this feature when parking to avoid hitting any object.

Why do motor home manufacturers not put this feature on their coaches. They already put cameras on the back and sides so adding a camera to the front would be a minimal cost. They already use a monitor so some software would be necessary to mix the views but it shouldn’t be expensive. Anyone driving a car with this feature knows how beneficial it would be in a motor home.

Does anyone know of a manufacturer offering this feature on a motor home?
  • Rearviewsaftey.com has one that can be added to any vehicle. Cost is about $700.

Maybe because many of us can still drive & don't figure that we need them, especially with the added cost that comes with them.
  • The MKX has the 'birds eye view' camera's, which are really nice!

What I would like to see are bumper sensors on the coach. Not only on the bumpers, but also across the top of the front and rear. The sensors could detect tree branches, etc.

    MM.

    funny you mention the drones.

i was watching a video on you tube of a trucker who had a drone and app on his phone that kept the drone over his truck at all times.

he didnt use it for going down the road, but would deploy it when parking at truck stops. made for some cool videos of how tight it can be to get a big rig into some parking spots.
  • It seems like RVs get the latest features and tech a couple years after they're in mainstream cars- plus 2019s are going to start being rolling off the line shortly, so maybe add another year.

$$$ is what it's all about.

    Cost money to play ;).
  • Maybe they just figured you'd want to sit up front and look out that great big window while driving their motorhome?:h
