They have some good deals, but wait until you have to deal with the off-shore customer service reps. You will be banging your head against the wall due to the cultural disconnect, lack of knowledge etc, differences in language and lack of overall concepts of a business.
Not at all true, in my experience.
Remember, not every item sold ON Amazon, is sold BY Amazon.
I have had to deal with Amazon customer service twice in four years of Prime membership, and both times I spoke to an American CSR who understood my question/problem and was able to easily solve it.
In fact, their return policy for Prime items is so awesome, we have bought multiple sizes of the same product, tried them on at home, and returned the wrong size, FOR FREE, and been credited once the FREE RETURN is scanned at the UPS store, not when Amazon actually receives the returned item.
That's customer service.
Don't get me started on the same-day delivery. I have ordered things at 10 A.M. on a SUNDAY and had them delivered by 5 P.M. Some items are even now being offered with 2-hour delivery in my area.
Awesome.
Feel free to keep shopping at B & M and I'll continue to be a loyal Amazon customer. Choices are what make this country great. :C
As an Amazon merchant, what you say is 100% correct. They are very strict in their vetting process and anything "fulfilled by Amazon" is handled by them for customer service issues. No overseas customer service reps.
Amazon Prime has been a great thing for our AMERICAN small business. Thanks to all who use the service.
